Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET), is an entry-level teaching qualification designed for beauty professionals—such as eyelash/ eyebrow technicians, nail technicians, makeup artists, hair extension technicians and aestheticians and more who wish to become educators or establish their own training academies. The course develops essential teaching skills, including lesson planning, inclusive teaching practices, assessment principles, and the delivery of micro-teaching sessions to effectively train others in beauty treatments.
Key Aspects of the Course
Purpose: To provide experienced beauty professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to teach and train adult learners within their specialist field
Content: Covers core teaching competencies, including understanding the role of an educator, inclusive learning strategies, assessment methods, and effective planning and delivery of training sessions.
Format: Commonly delivered online or through distance learning, allowing flexible, self-paced study alongside practical components such as micro-teaching sessions.
Units: Typically consists of three mandatory units: Roles and Responsibilities of the Educator, Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches, and Understanding Assessment Principles.
Outcomes: Successful completion leads to applying for accreditation, enabling learners to deliver accredited beauty courses and obtain trainer insurance.

•Time: 10:30am – 4:00pm
•Duration: One full day
A short dinner break is included, with opportunities to purchase food and drinks nearby. You’re also welcome to bring your own refreshments.
What You’ll Need
You don’t need to bring anything with you on the day. A notebook will be provided so you can comfortably take notes throughout the course.
Assessment & Qualification
After completing the course, you will be required to complete two assessments:
1.
Micro Lesson Plan – a short, structured lesson plan
2.
Micro Teaching Session – a 15-minute lesson that you will deliver and video record
This lesson can be taught to anyone, including a member of your household, making it simple and accessible.
Accreditation Guidance
As part of the course, we will guide you through how to gain accreditation once you’re qualified. You’ll receive a clear, step-by-step guide so you know exactly what to do next.
The accreditation process includes:
1. Finding an awarding organisation (we provide recommendations)
2. Creating a manual and lesson plan for the subject you want to teach
(Templates are available in a range of subjects and can be purchased and adapted if needed)
3. Submitting your materials to the awarding organisation for approval
4. Once approved, you’ll receive accreditation to teach that subject
5.You can then issue certificates using the awarding organisation’s certificates or your own designs with their official wax seal
What You Can Teach
Once qualified, you can teach any subject you are already qualified and accredited in.
Anything you hold recognised accreditation for can then be delivered by you as a trainer.
